Semper Resurgo supports veterans in rebuilding their lives through trauma-informed mentorship, reintegration support, and community connection. Semper Resurgo is a veteran-founded, veteran-focused non-profit that helps ease the transition from the military to a stable, dedicated, and meaningful life.
Many veterans experience barriers related to trauma exposure, disrupted social networks, justice involvement, unemployment, housing instability, and difficulty navigating civilian systems such as education, healthcare, and employment. These challenges often compound over time and can lead to isolation, economic hardship, and diminished well-being if left unaddressed. Semper Resurgo meets these needs through trauma-informed mentorship, educational programming assistance, reintegration support, and community-based services that promote long-term stability, purpose, and belonging.

Greg Hillman is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Semper Resurgo, where he leads with a combination of lived experience, military service, and a focus on trauma-informed care to support veterans navigating recovery, reintegration, and justice involvement.
A Reno, Nevada native, Greg overcame significant early-life adversity, including time in the foster care system. At nineteen, he joined the United States Marine Corps, where he served over 11 years, was meritoriously promoted three times, and later selected as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technician. He deployed to multiple regions, including Afghanistan, supporting international operations in explosive safety and counter-IED efforts.
Greg is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Social Work at the University of Nevada, Reno, building on prior studies in psychology and social work. He also serves as Mentor Coordinator for Reno Municipal Court’s CAMO Court, where he trains and leads veteran mentors supporting justice-involved veterans through recovery and reintegration.
Grounded in community, empathy, and service, Greg is committed to building programs that help veterans restore stability, reclaim purpose, and reconnect with their communities.
U.S. Army Veteran
Jeff's life is a testament to the power of redemption. A veteran, mentor, and person in long-term recovery, Jeff has walked through profound loss, addiction, incarceration, and rebuilding. Raised in Brooklyn, New York, Jeff’s early life changed dramatically after the death of his grandfather, a loss that deeply shaped the struggles that followed.
Over time, those struggles led to decades of justice-system involvement and 27 years of incarceration. But Jeff’s story is not defined by the worst chapters of his life. In 1993, he made the decision to pursue recovery and began the long work of healing.
Through that process, Jeff found a new sense of purpose: helping others do the same. As a mentor in the CAMO Court program, he has dedicated himself to mentorship, recovery work, and service to people seeking a second chance.
As Treasurer of Semper Resurgo, Jeff brings lived wisdom, accountability, and heart to the organization’s mission. He believes that one of the most meaningful ways to make amends for the past is to help others build a better future. His life embodies the truth that change is possible, recovery is real, and every person deserves the opportunity to rise again.
